As a child, my collections were many — state quarters, sea shells, miniature glass animals, pressed pennies, old perfume bottles — there was some sense of organization and ownership that I was always chasing, and that sense, combined with a photographer’s penchant to document things visually, has morphed into an obsession with these “Studies” — collections of photographs strung together to convey an idea of some kind that sparked for me when falling in love with these inanimate objects.
