Junk Journal

As an archivist at heart, I couldn't help but scan my most personal "project" as of late — my junk journal! This has been a really fun practice over the last couple of months, both as a way to preserve some of my favorite pieces of personal ephemera, as well as a limited-format creative process. I've never been much of a journaler, but now this has expanded past receipts and into something that is a place for me to create little worlds that I'm really proud of, 16 square inches at a time.

1. Queen Elizabeth II stamps in the Machin series
2. Yellow Blitz — my first page and my "junkiest" page
3a. Found photo, written on the back is "Small portion of iris farm North of Salem"
3b. Found photo seemingly taken by the same person, with "Our apple tree in bloom" written on the back
4. Assorted stamp collage
5a. Scrapbook page of our trip to Seattle for the Capitol Hill Block Party
5b. Graphic insert for a mushroom keychain blind box that I couldn't bear to throw away
6. Bread tab rainbow
