Rainy Monochrome Shoot

A rainy Portland morning styled shoot, all in monochrome —

Styling shoots can sometimes feel like an grown-up game of dress-up. I styled my sweet roommate-turn-best friend Calloway for this concept, and giddily choosing clothing, make up, and accessories together made us feel like we were accessing that younger child we all still have within ourselves. I really love this aspect to wardrobe and prop styling — the right combination of objects can create a new atmosphere or a captivating narrative, even if just for a moment. This is one of my simpler shoots, but it gave me a real appreciation for the challenge of self-imposed limitations, like staying within a monochrome palette.
