Photo Drive around Sauvie Island
A cloudy fall morning spent driving around Sauvie Island and taking photos amongst its hidden gems —
This shoot with Ashley is one of my older favorites; I took these on one of my first “collab” shoots while I was still in college. My friend Sabrina and I used to plan shoots together, and drove to amazing places around Oregon with amazing models who wanted an adventure as much as we did. At the time of this shoot, Sabrina and I were still fairly new to Portland, and wanted to explore Sauvie Island — a beautiful, farm-filled oasis north of the metro area. I only had one location in mind prior to this day, so we basically just drove around, choosing left and right at random and stopping when we saw something rad. These photos still hold a special place for me, especially the third photo — my senior year of college, that shot won a juried gallery spot in our campus library and I got to enjoy my work in print for the first time.
