India K — Sticker Launch + Solo Show

A mini-lookbook session capturing new and restocked stickers for India K —

India is a writer, photographer, and installation artist here in Portland, Oregon.

There is a quality to India’s work that I’ve never been able to quite put a finger on — it’s poignant, concise, and incredibly human. It brings to mind a word I’ve always loved in Portuguese — “saudade.” Saudade translates to “a deep emotional state of nostalgic or profound melancholic longing,” and that feeling comes through strong in her work, with an extra sense of self-assured confidence. I love India’s “micro-memoirs” as she’s called them recently, so it was a blast to get to work with her on this sticker relaunch.

We shot 10 total products — 5 die-cut stickers and 5 bumper stickers. She recruited several lovely friends to model themselves and their cars for this, and I love the real life, lived-in look these stickers have within these scenes.

The second part of this gallery contains a few photos from an event I shot for India for her solo show at Euko Coffee with some of her longer-form work and larger pieces, which was a joy to see all together.
