“Fine Art”
During my first hunt for slides, I came across a lot of slides used in an apparent academic setting: classic works of art transferred onto a tiny color negative and mounted. My college still used these (at least, the old-fashioned professor still preferred them) and it looks like they were similarly used at schools, primarily Lewis & Clark, and then donated once they faded out of use.
